Sathyabama is a prestigious institution which excels in the fields of Engineering, Science and Technology for more than three successful decades. It offers multi-disciplinary academic programmes in Engineering, Science, Technology, Law, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Nursing, Management, Arts and Science, and Allied Health Sciences. Established under Sec. 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Institution is accredited with an A++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, and has been graded a Category I University by the UGC under the Categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018.
The Institution persistently seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education, and stays responsive to changes taking place in education on a global scale. It brings together a team of dynamic and outstanding faculty, innovative pedagogical practices, state of the art infrastructure, and world class research facilities. Sathyabama has a strong presence in rankings and ratings at both national and international level. The Institution was ranked 53rd among universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Government of India, for 2025, and ranks among the top five institutions in the country for innovation in the ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements. Times Higher Education and QS have both ranked Sathyabama among the top institutions worldwide.
Sathyabama holds alliances with leading universities and research establishments nationally and internationally. It is a research intensive university with world class laboratories, engaged in the emerging areas of science and technology, and has undertaken sponsored and collaborative R&D projects funded by national and international organizations. On 22 June 2016, the Institution wrote a special page in the history of space research with the launch of SATHYABAMASAT in association with ISRO.

ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF ECE

With a strong emphasis on the holistic development of a student, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering grooms the multidisciplinary strengths of its students and builds their skill set through hands on training, workshops, and research at the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Signal and Image Processing, VLSI Design, Power Electronics, Electric Vehicles, Embedded Systems, Contemporary Wireless Communication, Wind Energy, Nanotechnology, and 5G Communications.
The Department houses state of the art laboratories across almost every frontier of Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Its laboratories carry the latest simulation tools to serve a range of specializations, and are equipped for measurement, characterization, and synthesis of both experimental and theoretical results.
The Department developed the on board communication subsystem, ground station control, electronic power supply, and attitude determination control systems, and calibrated the spectrometer, for the successful launch of SATHYABAMASAT on 22 June 2016. The satellite's mission of measuring greenhouse gas emissions is carried out through continuous collection and processing of satellite data by our students, from the ground station on our own premises. The combined expertise of staff and students has produced around 30 research projects sponsored by government and R&D organizations including DST, IGCAR, BRNS, BRFST, TNSCST, ISRO, and DRDO.
This opens a wide spectrum of placement opportunities, extending well beyond a student's immediate area of study, and shows in a consistent placement record of over 95% every year. Major recruiters include Samsung, HP Electronics, Renault, Nissan, Tata Communications, Nokia, Bosch, Amazon, NTT Data, MBIT Wireless, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Capgemini, L&T Infotech, and Tech Mahindra. Excellent infrastructure, expert faculty, and enthusiastic students have also produced remarkable contributions in product development, patents, and paper publications.
